Pakistan's cricket coach says 'No way will Akmal play'

Pakistan cricket coach Intikhab Alam says there's no way wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal will play in the Hobart test.

It's been an unsettled Pakistan camp ever since their dramatic loss to Australia in the second Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, where Ahkmal dropped four catches.

The Pakistan Cricket Board, under intense pressure from parliamentarians back home, have sent young wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed over for the third Test.

The Pakistani coach says there's no doubt about Ahmed's place in the side.

"Yes he will play...definitely he's been sent here to play, not to just to give him a rest so he will be playing definitely. There's no doubt about that."

Alam also says vice-captain Akmal has accepted he's the one to go despite having a say in team selection.

"Well actually we have a three member committee. Vice captain, captain and myself and also the manager will also attend the meeting."

"The manager is there, he will have casting vote also. I have already spoken with Kamran...I think he understands. These things happen in cricket."
