Hamstring injury grounds young all-rounder

Another day, another Australian cricketer injured in India.

Rookie NSW all-rounder Moises Henriques, who is struggling with a hamstring injury, could become the fifth player sent home from Australia's tour of India.

Cricket Australia today revealed the 22-year-old hurt his right hamstring during Monday night's win over India. The match was only his second one-day international.

The New South Welshman will now definitely miss tomorrow's fifth match of the series in Hyderabad.

His absence is likely to ensure a debut for Victorian paceman Clint McKay, who only arrived in India on Tuesday.

If Henriques was to fly home it coould force Cricket Australia to call up a replacement for a replacement, as he was brought over here just over a week ago to cover an injury - also a hamstring - to Queenslander James Hopes.

Victorian all-rounder Andrew McDonald would seemingly be at the head of the queue to replace Henriques if selectors decided it was necessary to send a replacement player for the last two matches of the series, to be played in Guwahati on Sunday and in Mumbai next Wednesday.
