Andrew Flintoff is determined to bring some silverware to Old Trafford after signing a new contract with his home county
Lancashire were once the undisputed kings of the one-day game but have not won a major honour for 10 years.
Flintoff told Sky Sports News: "I have been here since I was nine years of age and had no intention of playing for another county. Whatever time I have got left in one-dayers and Twenty20s, I want to play here.
"It would be nice to win something. I played in a successful side in the late '90s in the one day game and we have not had much silverware here for a long time, so I am ambitious, I want to win trophies here. I think the club is going in the right direction in a lot of ways."
As for his own rehabilitation after a sixth major operation in four years, the all-rounder said: "It is going slowly. The surgeon warned me after the operation to be paient, which is not one of my greatest assets.
"I have been out in Dubai for the last eight weeks, got off my crutches about two weeks ago and have been working with my physio and a doctor out there - a lot of swimming and various weights. I have got a check-up next week and hopefully everything is working to plan and I can get back to running again."
Despite retiring from four and five-day cricket, the 31-year-old still has plenty of ambitions in the game.
He added: "I am not going to give up Test cricket and then kill myself playing any cricket I can find. I want to play in the tournaments that excite me. It has to be things that I want to do.
"Obviously IPL is one of them, playing for Lancashire and England is a given - as long as I'm selected. And then personally I would like to play in Australia. I wanted to play there when I was 16 but my mum wouldn't let me, so I worked at Woolworths instead!"
