Sehwag lauds team efforts for top Test spot

CNN-IBN's Associate Cricket Editor Nishant Arora caught up with the man of the moment Virender Sehwag in an exclusive interview after India won the series against Sri Lanka 2-0 and became the number one Test team in the world.Virender Sehwag: The best feeling is that we have become number one. Our goal was to become number one. And we achieved through the hard work by the team. Our bowlers did a fantastic job, our batsmen scored a lot of runs. It's the team efforts that got us here.CNN-IBN: It was an absolute delight to watch you. On the first day it looked a difficult wicket to bat. And after Sri Lanka scored 393, everybody thought India would find it tough to match. But when you started batting, it looked like batting was so effortless over there.

Virender Sehwag: That's my job. As an opener I must give a good start to my team. I and Murali did a good job. We gave a 200-run stand. The moment I crossed that 50 or 60, it became easier for me to stay on and score big. I always think I must convert it to a big score so my team is in a good position and can win the Test match.CNN-IBN: How did you celebrate this big occasion?Virender Sehwag: It's good to enjoy yourself. We celebrated the win, the number one position big way. It's long time, we celebrated like that.
